Open Letter is the collective name that we give to the people behind the open letter hosted on this web page. Our Privacy Policy is our means of explaining to you how we obtain and use any information that you provide to us and it informs you of your associated rights and choices.

What does the Open Letter site do with my data?

Open Letter is a web page that is hosted by people from Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. We operate the site from within the EU and, while we use facilities made available to us by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, the Open Letter team maintains sole control of any personal data we receive. The site is entirely independent of any accounts or interactions that you have with Facebook, Instagram or any of the other Meta Products. Data that may be automatically generated from your use of this site will not be linked to any data that Meta may have about you.

This Privacy Policy applies to Open Letter's collection and use of personal data. The data controller is Meta Platforms Ireland Limited. Information controlled by Meta Platforms Ireland Limited may be transferred, or stored and processed in, the United States or other countries outside of where you live. These data transfers are necessary to provide our service. We use standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission and rely on its adequacy decisions about certain countries for data transfers from the European Economic Area to the United States and other countries.

The site enables anyone who is interested to review the open letter. Unless you wish to sign up as a signatory to the open letter, we don't ask you for any personal data when you use the site.

Signing up to be a signatory

If you choose to provide us with your information with a view to being a signatory to the open letter, including your name, email address, country, company and job title, you consent to let us use the data that you provide for the purposes of adding you as a signatory to the open letter. You can withdraw your consent by emailing us at openletter@meta.com at any time and we will delete any information that you provide us from our records within seven days.

We value your information. We'll keep it secure. Unless you authorise it or we're compelled by law, we won't share your postal address with anyone else, ever.
